Boehm: We Need to Enforce the Constitution, Now!

We live in interesting times here in the United States of America. Amazingly, we have enemies attacking our country, our way of life, in a multi-pronged strategy to overthrow our republic. Over the past few years, we have witnessed an attempted removal of a sitting president by first accusing him of colluding with the Russian government, using a fake dossier, paid for by the Hillary Clinton campaign, to illegally obtain a FISA warrant in order to spy on his campaign and administration. The President was exonerated after a “Special Prosecutor” found no evidence of wrongdoing. They then tried to impeach the President accusing him of “Abuse of Power” and “Obstruction of Congress”. The first charge was a weak and silly attempt to accuse him of bribery or exacting a “‘quid pro quo” from the President of Ukraine. The second charge was the result of the President exercising his legal “Executive Privilege” by refusing to fully cooperate with the politically motivated House Intelligence Committee and House Judiciary Committee. He was found not guilty of both charges.

The Wuhan COVID-19 Virus

While the Impeachment Trial was wrapping up, a Coronavirus made it’s way from China to the rest of the planet, including the United States. The federal government closed borders to incoming travelers and issued guidelines of behavior to citizens to stem the spread of the Virus. Many State and Local Governments then responded by issuing various orders shutting down businesses, forbidding group assemblies, closing schools, and ordering people to stay at home, some of those orders remain in place three to four months after issuance. Those orders are unconstitutional, some have been challenged in court successfully and ordered rescinded. Citizens” rights have been seized.

Cities and Police Under Attack

Starting as a peaceful protest against police brutality and racism as a result of the sadistic George Floyd killing May 25th, the protests quickly morphed into violent rioting, looting, and killing. It continues to this day in several cities across the country. The chief perpetrator is the group that operates under the name Black Lives Matter or BLM. While they market themselves as a crusader of justice for blacks and have reaped millions of dollars in donations from large corporations and sports leagues, they are in fact a racist, Neo-Marxist organization that seeks to tear apart our culture and take control of our government. And they, along with their accomplices, Antifa, and assorted thugs and useful idiots are making progress toward their goal. They are aided in their efforts by Mayors and Governors who refuse to enforce laws and instead shackle Law Enforcement agencies and are stupidly moving to defund those agencies. Citizens and their property are no longer protected, the rights ensured by the Constitution are being stripped away. We have reached a critical moment in the history of our country.

“We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” The Preamble of the Constitution of the United States

Those words in the Preamble, which my school classmates and I were required to memorize, should be viewed today as a call to action. The Constitution is being shoved aside in favor of anarchy, terrorism, brutality, vandalism, and murder. The enemy seeks to throw away the Constitution and create a Marxist state. If you think I am overreacting, take some time over the weekend to inform yourself. Do some research. Perhaps use some different news sources. You owe it to yourself. If you hate President Trump and just want him out of office, please reassess the alternative you are choosing. If you think Joe Biden would be a harmless, benign placeholder as President, think again. There will be Marxists in his Cabinet, guaranteed. Elections have consequences. The ineptitude of several large city mayors has been embarrassing. DeBlasio in NYC, Lightfoot in Chicago, and Durkan in Seattle are just three examples of mayoral failures. Rampant crime, huge deficits in some cities, failing education systems, and in the case of Seattle, allowing a group to take control of 6 downtown Seattle blocks, including a police station that needed to be abandoned The result was two weeks of lawlessness, including two shooting deaths. As citizens, it is our duty to elect the best people to do the job they are running for. Once elected, we must hold them accountable and remove them if they are failing. Yes, the political system is rigged and big donors have too much control. We must demand election law changes. And we must demand term limits for Congress and for local and State office too.

One weapon of the Neo-Marxists is to bully opponents by accusing them of being racist for opposing them. Ignore them! They are the racists. They do nothing to improve the conditions for any ethnicity, especially for Blacks. Stand strong, confront them, push back hard. We must reject their false narrative. All citizens are protected under the Constitution. Millions of citizens of all ethnicities have built successful lives here in the US because of the equality of opportunity that our country provides. Of course, there are isolated incidents of racism and other prejudice. But they are the rare exception, not the rule. We have laws protecting citizens from prejudice and those laws must be enforced. Of course, there have been isolated incidents of police brutality against the same and different ethnicities, but they are also very rare occurrences. In 2015, more than 50 million people had an interaction with law enforcement personnel. Rare, isolated incidents will happen, but they are far from systemic as is claimed in BLM’s ridiculous narrative. They accuse people of racism and yet they are the ones who foment violence against Law Enforcement, and who target whites for intimidation.

Hold the Elected Accountable

We voted for them, or against them, and we must hold them accountable! Officeholders at all levels are supposed to be accountable to the citizens. They work for us. In our country, we have allowed that relationship to invert. We must regain control. Congress is a mess. The lack of term limits has allowed both houses to become gridlocked by political games and power plays. They care nothing for the Citizens, but rather their sole focus is on getting reelected. Their selfish ineptitude weakens our country and opens the door to those who seek to destroy us. Call your representatives, county board members, city council, and school board members. Demand that they do their job and represent your rights. Demand that they obey the Constitution. During this attack by the Marxists, demand that your government enforce the law, defend the constitution, protect the citizens and their property. When voting, get informed and choose the best candidate that you truly think will do what’s best for you and for the country. Yes, you may feel the need to choose the least of two evils, but until we hold elected officials accountable and improve election laws, we will occasionally be stuck with substandard candidates. We are in a battle, it’s time to do our part. Be strong!
